UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was photographed crouching on the floor to get documents spilled by US President Donald Trump during a joint announcement of a new UK-US business package at the G7 summit in Canada in an unanticipated act of political dance. When Trump opened his files for the cameras only to have some papers flying to the floor as the two leaders had only announced the much-anticipated trade agreement’s standard signing. Starmer immediately bent over and said,” Oops, sad about that,” while Trump chuckled as he apologized,” It’s a very important document.” Starmer later told investigators that he acted immediately, knowing that if anyone else moved forward, Trump’s security team might take them down. He said,” There weren’t many decisions,” in a half-joke. Trump, in his usual style, falsely announced the package as one with the European Union rather than the UK.” I was only seriously aware that it wouldn’t have been great for anyone else to step forward,” Trump said. It’s a good deal for both, they say. He said, presumably unfazed,” It’ll produce a lot of work, a lot of income.” Starmer called the agreement” a sign of strength” in UK-US relations by clarifying how it would impact tariffs on cars and aviation. ” Donald, I appreciate you very much. This now includes aviation and automobile tariffs,” he said. Starmer refuted any concerns about Trump’s condition, saying that the former president was “in great type” throughout their sessions despite the mix-up. When asked why Trump seemed to like him so much, Starmer said,” That’s really for him to answer, but I think we do have a great relationship. And that serves to protect the country.
