‘ Anyone who does n’t know how to define what a woman is, should not be employed’ at the school
A group of Saint Mary’s College members want to retake control of their institution from the presidency, who they claim had broken the Catholic faith.
The newly established Loretto Trust prefers to maintain its identity as a solemn Catholic school rather than just another liberal organization.
A letter, sent on March 19 to the presidency, comes after the Catholic school in South Bend, Indiana announced and then retracted its new scheme to confess men who falsely claim to become feminine.
The group, affiliated with the Sycamore Trust, a group of students that want to preserve the University of Notre Dame honestly Catholic, identified five areas for improvement after conversations with pupils, students, and families.
One is a straightforward getting test: determine what a person is. Because Kate Conboy, the president, believes that men may be women, she would be exempt from being hired.
The email states:
Anyone who does n’t know how to define a woman as, according to the survey respondents, should n’t be employed by SMC. It’s easy, and for those who think it’s not plain, perhaps they would be suited better training at another organization. This is an most- women’s university. Female students and alumni are female. It really is that easy.
Conboy and academics who prod anti-liberal ideas do not own the school. ” This academy belongs to people. This school belongs to the Catholic Church”, the plaintiffs write.
Other suggestions are made by the plaintiffs to improve the conditions at Saint Mary’s College, such as increasing the number of Christian academics. They want academics to take the Oath Against Modernism. It used to be required of not just monks, but even professors.
It is not a difficult oath; rather, it states that a person commits to upholding the teachings of the Catholic Church. The oath , would be out of position at a common agricultural school, but is needed at a Catholic academy.
That may cause secular free- speech advocates to screen, but it is really good for colleges to have missions, dogmas, and doctrines.
The Loretto Trust maintains her position by calling her” the most anti-Catholic leader in the background of SMC.”
” Catholicism interferes with President Conboy’s agenda”, they also wrote.

The school’s curriculum needs an revamp, too.
Its common physician education, called the Sophia Program, has twice as many female research courses as it does church classes, according to Claire Bettag.
” There are 113 gender and women’s studies classes offered and 56 religious classes.. at a so- called’ Catholic’ institution”, Bettag, a campus activist, told The College Fix via email.
Sophia “is a good program,” but it “highlights some of the woke ideology that some girls are forced to face on campus.”
For instance, some students might need to take a gender and women’s studies class because it’s in line with the” Women’s Voices” requirement to teach women that anyone can be a woman, according to Bettag.
The school also prohibits Bettag’s Turning Point USA group ( because national CEO Charlie Kirk claims there are only two sexes ) and offers programming that is against the Catholic faith. Pope Francis, and the Catholic Church throughout its history, has also held this view ).
The path forward is simple.
” Start the college on the right foot with new leadership,” the college’s motto. Invest in the faithful. Encourage those without faith to witness examples of Catholic leadership and faith in action, the letter declares.
” Hire academicians and leaders who will fight for and uphold women and the Catholic faith.” You have the chance to be heroes and heroines”, they wrote.
” Please do NOT fail us. We know the 180- year- old mission of SMC. The fight that started it will continue, but it will be fought for by those who came before us. We will keep pushing until the best college for women in the country is restored to our beloved SMC.
