Indonesia: New need for companies to review job vacancies
Companies of foreign nationals in Indonesia are required to then tell the Ministry of Manpower about career openings using an online Employment Information System in accordance with a new National Rules PR 57/2023. The required information includes information such as the vacant place, the number of workers needed, the required knowledge or skills levels, the offered income, and the work place.
This statement can be viewed by job applicants, companies, and the state to apply for the position, fill it with a suitable prospect, or check its fulfilment, both. Companies are also required to maintain the program after the position is filled.
Employers who fail to comply with this new law may experience operational penalties even though it is not anticipated to delay the processing of work permits.

United Kingdom: New speech of alterations
To implement its five-point strategy unveiled last December, the UK government has released a Statement of Changes ( SOC ) with the aim of reducing net migration.
The impending Statement of modifications includes the following key updates in addition to other changes:
- Raising the least common income level from £26, 200 father to £38, 700 father and “going rates” from the 25th percentile to the median for the Skilled Worker Route, starting April 4, 2024. Based on the most recent Office for National Statistics ( ONS ) pay data, the new thresholds and starting rates are updated. Prior to the effective date of these Rules, specific transition arrangements have been made for those who are already on the move and are requesting an extension of their stay, a change of job, or settling before April 4, 2030.
- The basic income level for Senior or Specialist Workers in the Global Business Mobility roads has been updated from £45, 800, to £48, 500, and going costs are being updated using the most recent Statistics pay information.
- For Graduate Trainees in the Global Business Mobility routes, the general salary threshold is being updated from £24, 220 to £25, 410, and going rates remain based on 70 % of the 25th percentile, updated to the latest ONS pay data.
- On April 4, 2024, the Immigration Salary List will replace the list of occupations that were previously listed. This is to make it clear that the government would prefer to provide a discounted salary threshold rather than a list of all occupations with labor shortages. The included occupations previously have a 20 % discount to the starting pay. However, the previous 20 % discount to the going rate requirement is being removed.
- Enhance the minimum salary requirements for the Family Route ( fiancée/partners/children of British citizens or settled persons ) from £18, 600 pa to £29, 000pa from April 11, 2024. There will no longer be a need to sponsor children. For those who travel the route before April 11 there have been transitional arrangements made.
