The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA ) announced on Thursday that Hyundai Motor America and Kia America are recalling a total of 147, 100 U.S. vehicles due to a damaged charging unit.
Hyundai may understand 98, 878 automobiles, affecting specific Ioniq and Genesis versions, while Kia did remember 48, 232 automobiles impacting certain EV6 models.
The security regulator warned that the ICCU could be damaged and prevent the 12 volt battery from charging, which could lead to a loss of drive power, which would increase the risk of a collision.
