Generally, I am not an economic interventionist, but as America continues to struggle with problems from various sides, safeguarding our business should be a major problem.
Mexico, one of the nation’s largest vehicle manufacturers, export 90 percent of its trucks ( mostly to the United States ). While it is apparent that American manufacturers utilize the Latino market for automobile manufacturing and assembling ( even Tesla has indicated they may build a factory in Mexico ), the surge in Chinese car production in Mexico is a disturbing pattern.
In recent years, Foreign companies have established businesses in Mexico, investing tens of billions in the country to utilize the U. S. Mexico- Canada Trade Agreement. Now, the tax incentives for electric vehicles favor National auto manufacturers, but automobiles and components manufactured in Mexico are available for preferential treatment under the U. S. Mexico- Canada industry agreement, so long as at least 50 percent of vehicle components are manufactured in North America….
