As the industrial aircraft manufacturer is embroiled in a growing controversy over the quality of its materials, three older Boeing professionals, including chief executive Dave Calhoun, are stepping down.
In a business- extensive information on Monday, Mr. Calhoun called it a “watershed time” for Boeing when a doorway panel blew out on a 737 Max- 9 flown by Alaska Airlines in January.
” We may continue to respond to this incident with perfect impunity.” He told Boeing people,” We must also inculcate a complete commitment to health and quality at every stage of our business.”
” The eyes of the world are on us”, he said, referring to the increasing scrutiny from the public, government officials, and flying industry over Boeing’s ability to make certain its passenger jet are secure and useful….
