Tucker Carlson, the founder of Tucker Carlson Network, claims that President Joe Biden’s administration is intimidating a pro-life father by chanting and praying outside of an abortion clinic. Carlson warns that the administration “fears ” that kind of activity.
Paul Vaughn, the father of 11 children in Tennessee, was detained by the FBI in October 2022 and accused of breaking the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances ( FACE ) Act. During an interview with The Daily Signal at the time of his imprisonment, Vaughn said that the FBI came to his house, “guns pointed at the entrance, banging on the property, yelling and screaming, ‘Open up! FBI. ’ ”
I witnessed children leaving the garden and getting in the car to go to school. I was about to get them to school, and other children in the house, ” he told The Daily Signal at the time. I stepped outside to close the rambling, banging, and yelling because I thought it was the quickest route to de-escalation and was wearing handcuffs. ”
Carlson questioned why precisely the Biden Justice Department had detain Vaughn in such a dramatic way.
“The issue is, ” the original Fox News Channel number asked, “what exactly did he do? Was he a criminal, a serial criminal? Was he trying to invade the country? No. Paul Vaughn, the father of 11 children, had dared to pray and sing songs in the doorway of an abortion clinic.
“ In other words, he did what the Biden administration really fears, ” Carlson continued. “ He prayed. And for doing that, he faces 11 years in prison. ”
Video provided to The Daily Signal by Vaughn, taken by his wife, shows FBI providers outside the home ’s house. Vaughn’s woman follows them, videotaping their conversation.
She asks,” I want to understand why you were gunning down my door.” “Are you not going to show me something? ”
“No, we are not, ” one realtor remarks, while another says, “ I tried. ”
“No, you did n’t! ” she shouts again. “You did not try. ”
Carrson inquired about whether he had always imagined that meditating may result in an 11-year prison sentence.
The pro-life parents responded,” Praying for our country is what we were instructed to do.” I believed that was what was needed for independence. And rights is to ask for and approach God for benefits in our nation. And, of training, we’re praying because our country has allowed the wicked, horrible activity of pregnancy and killing newborn babies. So, that ’s ultimately what the Biden DOJ does n’t like. ”
Vaughn argued that the Biden DOJ’s intention was to” strike fear into Catholics in the country” with its “heavy-handed attack.” ”

“It’s an act of war against religious persons, ” he said. “And so that was their goal. Luckily, God is gracious and kind, and his joy has been poured out upon our home, in ways we never could have experienced. And as my children grow up, I see a degree of persecution that strengthens them and gives a meaning to a place of trust. ”
He claims that there are two ways he can respond to these situations.
“We may be harsh and upset and angry, ” Vaughn said, “or we may be courteous, and we can become forgiving to the opponents. And loving God is a God of righteousness, and he will work this out. And that ’s the concept that I’m telling my kids. And I can see how much this and comprehension improve. ”
Vaughn praised the Catholics who have contacted him from all over the country to say they are praying for him. Carlson questioned whether prominent Christian figures had influenced the public’s opinion of his situation, claiming that they had not received much support.
“It really is a time for the cathedral, ” Carlson reflected. I believe it’s time to evaluate yourself if you’re an United Christian president who is standing by while a person faces 11 years in prison for praying. ”
“Yep, ” Vaughn replied, “ I would absolutely agree. We tend to divide the spiritual from the material, and we either make it all one or the other, and we do n’t do a good job as the American church of understanding that it’s both. ”
Vaughn’s incarceration came amid the Biden DOJ’s targeting of pro-life protesters with the FACE Act. The FACE Act protects not only abortion facilities, but even pregnancy resource centers and houses of worship, but the Biden DOJ has generally used it to prosecute pro-life people.
Since 2022, the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division has charged lots of pro-life people with FACE Act transgressions. Although , the DOJ charged four people with FACE Act breaches related to problems on maternity reference centres in Florida in 2023. pro-abortion vandals have attacked at least 88 for centers and 218 churches since the Supreme Court draft opinion from May 2022 that suggested Roe v. Wade had been overturned, according to CatholicVote.
In February, Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, urged the Court to cooperate with Republican needs to relieve FACE Act information. Though he had called on the DOJ in October 2022 to disclose FACE Act prosecution data, the DOJ did n’t release that data ( even though the DOJ’s Kristen Clarke told Roy that she would make sure he received the information requested by December ).
Roy, who presides the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government, warned that “DOJ’s failure to produce FACE Act trial information is especially troubling in light of the obvious gap between trials involving pro-life demonstrators and those involving pro-abortion attacks on places of worship and childbirth resource centers. ”
In the letter from February that was first obtained by The Daily Signal, he wrote,” DOJ’s refusal to comply with this demand impedes the committee’s legal obligation to perform monitoring of the Department and the Civil Rights Division.” DOJ may return to its original intent, which is to protect all Americans, not just those who support it. ”
“The Civil Rights Division continues to use the FACE Act to unfairly targeted pro-life advocates, ” Roy wrote. “On January 30, 2024, six pro-life advocates were found guilty of violating the FACE Act, and they now face up to [10-1/2 ] years in prison, three years of supervised release, and fines of up to$ 260,000. ”
Roy specifically mentioned Mark Houck, a second-generation parents and a big family, as a pro-life advocate.
The Court conducted an extensive search at Mark Houck’s home to assault him on an excessive FACE Act charge stemming from Mr. Houck, leading to these trials. Houck had a previous meeting with a hostile pregnancy campaigner who attacked his young son, according to Roy. In January 2023, a Pennsylvania jury acquitted [him ] on the ground. ”
Houck and his wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, recently told The Daily Signal that they were targeted by the Biden DOJ in an effort to terrify, solitude, and fear the family for their pro-life work, praying for the people who are entering pregnancy facilities.
In November, the Houcks sued the Biden presidency for “malicious and hostile trial. ”
