- Foreign nationals can now apply for an extension of their visitor visa at the National Immigration Agency for a fee of 300 New Taiwan dollars ( roughly US$ 9.39 ), provided that their visa does not specify that” no extension will be granted” and that they were originally permitted to stay for 60 days or longer.
- Prior to now, extension requests for visitor visas were prohibited, and the amount of time that is granted ca n’t exceed the original permitted stay’s length and cannot exceed a total stay of more than six months.
- Candidates with an Alien Citizen Certificate may then use to expand their standing up to three months before expiration, away from one month.
- Also, foreign nationals who entered the country under a native card on or after Jan. 1, 2024, will now have 30 calendar days to apply for an Alien Native Document, which is away from 15 calendar days.
