TAMPA, Fla. — Last month, Gov. SB 1718, which requires facilities to gather patient immigration status knowledge, was signed into law by Ron DeSantis.
The Agency for Healthcare Administration is currently gathering that data in a screen. Additionally, it makes an illegal estimate of the cost of medical treatment for residents of Florida.

Dr. Yared Vazquez, who owns Vazcare in Lutz, says the new platform has left him concerned for the future of health treatment.
He claimed that when it is depicted in dollars and cents, it “dehumanizes” wellness care. ” What was the general health result? Did we stop any spread of any transmittable illness? Did we avoid a lot of murders”?
Vazquez’s target has always been to make sure his community is good, and also offers private coverage through his service.
” Prescriptions are available at the public who sees us as patients for$ 10 or less,” he said.
However, Vazquez has been battling questions from numerous people seeking medical attention for almost a month, including whether or not they will be asked about their immigration status.
People are not required to respond when asked about their legal status, which is why Dr. Vazquez claims he is continuing to provide that training to his clients.
The Agency for Healthcare Administration’s release states that” the dashboard highlights the cost of illegal immigration, which strains our health care system and taxpayers.”
Dr. Vazquez claims that the screen does not put people ‘ wellbeing first.
” You have to take care of the whole people, even if you make compromises for it, you have to consider legal methods, you have to find correct ways to get exposure to care”, he said.
According to the screen data, Miami-Dade County had the highest estimated number of expenses for patients who were illegal immigrants.
