Google, a tech giant, has agreed to settle with the plaintiffs who claimed Google violated users ‘ privacy by tracking their online activity even when they were using the Chrome browser’s private incognito mode.
In 2020, five defendants filed a class-action complaint. The lawsuit covered millions of users and sought$ 5 billion in damages, a minimum of$ 5, 000 per affected person. The lawsuit claimed that Google misled consumers into thinking that the software company was n’t tracking their online activity through third-party biscuits, which aid in tracking user activity, by using incognito mode while browsing the Internet.
Google has often disputed the states. It claimed that the Incognito burst display and terms and conditions clearly state that users were informed that privacy settings have limitations.
