Chris Bowen, the minister of energy and climate change, has pledged to revitalize the solar-making sector with a$ 1 billion ( US$ 650 million ) item.
In a new video on social media, the secretary provided an update on the Solar SunShot system, which is part of an ambitious plan to turn Australia into a “renewable energy power” via$ 40 billion worth of purchase.
The federal government will use production incentives and grants to stimulate solar panel manufacturers to set up production facilities in Australia as part of the system.
Manufacturing facilities directly involved in the supply chain for solar panels, such as those that produce board cells and polysilicon, may receive government support.
