    McAllen mother arrested after toddler eats THC gummy, docs show

    EDINBURG, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A McAllen woman was arrested in Edinburg after her 2 year old ate a THC gummy that was in her purse, documents revealed.

    According to Hidalgo County Jail information, Sariah Garza was detained by Edinburg authorities on a cost of damage to a baby caused by legal neglect.

    At 3: 48 p. m., March 27, an Edinburg police officer was dispatched to the Edinburg Children’s Hospital on W. Trenton Road in reference to a child who digested a THC jelly, a possible cause petition stated.

    Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a thoughts- altering substances found in cannabis. The developing neurons of babies and children are “especially exposed to the dangerous effects” of THC, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    The official arrived and spoke with the mom of a 2- yr- ancient child, identified as Garza. According to the affidavit, Garza claimed she and her child were eating a THC jelly while she was at work.

    According to the report, investigators spoke with medical personnel who” confirmed that the kid digested a THC jelly by having cannabis manifest in her body results.”

    The analyst noted that the child showed evidence of intoxication. Garza was finally taken into custody for a child’s damage.

    During an interview, Garza implicated herself by saying she had the jelly in her bag, which her baby accessed, the petition stated.

    Garza was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail on March 28 on a$ 25, 000 relationship. The following morning, she was released from jail.
