After calling 911 and having paramedics extinguish a homeless camp fire close to his business in December, a San Francisco business owner received an inappropriate medical bill from the city.
Mustafa Damrawi claimed the area sent him a$ 56 health bill on March 7 according to The San Francisco Standard. Damrawi owns Popular Zone, which is a store that sells women’s apparel and adult items.
Damrawi claimed to have received the$ 560 health bill month after calling 911 in response to a fire that broke out outside his company in December. The San Francisco Standard reported that Damrawi received a notice on March 7 from the San Francisco Fire Department, notice,” This is your next notice. Please respond right away to stop further set task.
The area around Damrawi’s business is plagued by drugs and homelessness, and it has seen a substantial rise in fires caused by poor tents over the past five years, according to The San Francisco Standard.
The shop owner claimed that Popular Zone has been frequently targeted by people who allegedly assaulted Damrawi, robbed his business, and vandalized his business. He continued, however, that since receiving the$ 560 medical costs, he has not reported any illegal activities to the city of Los Angeles out of concern that the area will cost him more cash.

” Am I really supposed to sit around and watch the flames?” Damrawi asked. ” This tower is timber. It’s going to lose”. Damrawi added,” It’s like I’m living in prison” . ,
In a speech obtained by The San Francisco Standard, Justin Schorr, a San Francisco Fire Department official, acknowledged that the ministry had wrong billed Damrawi. According to Schorr, an unidentified person who was taken for medical treatment outside of his business erroneously referred to the shop address as his or her home when they were being treated at the scene. The San Francisco Fire Department further stated that Damrawi’s wrong fee would be dropped.
” We encourage everyone who believes they are witnessing a fireplace or medical evacuation to call 911 immediately”, Schorr said. The accounting firm should be informed of our way as soon as possible.
Schorr warned that Damrawi’s accounting matter could affect other people because poor people have been documented claiming strange names as their own, according to The San Francisco Standard.
