Jewish Rutgers kids told to ‘ go back home’ by pro- Israel protesters

According to video footage of the event and those who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon and the anti-Israel student protests, anti-Israel students chanted slogans and hurled anti-Semitic insults at Jewish students and forced the school’s president to stop the event first.

One picture obtained by the Free Beacon shows the university’s president, Jonathan Holloway, escorted out by police after cutting short the event.

” Broaden the revolution. Much survive the revolution. Long live opposition. Weight is justified when people are occupied”, chanted the demonstrators. ” We do n’t want two states. We want 48. Changing life since 1948. There’s nothing around to celebrate”, they declared in another chorus.

Rutgers University did not respond to a request for comment.

The Endowment Justice Collective, a” coalition of Rutgers businesses advocating for an investment portfolio that ISN’T invested in Jewish segregation,” and Learners for Justice in Palestine at Rutgers- New Brunswick were the main culprits of Thursday night’s disturbance. Following an investigation into a number of college policy violations, the latter is beginning a one-year probationary period.

Joe Gindi, a freshman from Rutgers University and a Syrian Jew, reported to the Free Beacon that Israeli individuals wanted to hear what the school’s president had to declare. Gindi claimed that Israeli students were given the option of leaving through the crisis exits after speaking with the police. They almost certainly did.

” I’m not going to allow this mob taking over my school. I wo n’t be told that we should leave using the emergency exits, so I wo n’t. I refuse to be bullied by these people”, said Gindi.

Gindi also praised Holloway for his encouragement and unwillingness to stop Rutgers ‘ collaboration with Tel Aviv University.

Gindi expressed his appreciation for standing up for this rabble and rejecting calls to boycott Israel, and expressed his appreciation to President Holloway. ” I really value that”.

Around 40 Jewish students—who also had to be escorted out—and 250 activists were in presence, Gindi told the Free Beacon.

Another Israeli student who spoke to the Free Beacon and asked to remain anonymous claimed that Israeli students had attended town hall to know about college anti-Semitism, but were instead left” shaking” and terrified.

Israeli students attended the city hall to find out what President Holloway and Rutgers would do to combat racism, according to the student. ” Rather of getting our solutions, we were left shaking from another racist event. It was terrifying”.

In another movie a scholar captured, protesters yelled at Rutgers Jewish learners to “go back house.” Additionally, protesters informed attendees that Birthright Israel, a program offered through the school’s Hillel book for young individuals of Jewish descent to visit Israel, is certainly welcome on college. Jerusalem is no Israel’s, according to them. Rutgers Hillel did not had a reply.

” Settlers, settlers, go back home. Palestine is own alone”, the demonstrators chanted. ” Jerusalem’s our money. Palestine may be free from the valley to the water. Rutgers, Rutgers, you will see, Palestine may be completely. … Rutgers, Rutgers, you will learn, Palestinians did return. We will open Palestine within our lives. … Say it loud, say it clear, we do n’t want Birthright here”.

Rivka Shafer, a rookie from Israel, had her face emblazoned on flyers for a Rutgers election against Israel last week. Schafer claimed to the New York Post that the brochures were posted in her home’s hostel. Schafer’s lawyer, Cory Rothbort, who spoke to the Free Beacon, said that “it is available year on Israeli kids”.

” Rivka Schafer was targeted where she sleeps”, Rothbort said. ” The message: ‘ Do n’t Support Israel—you are n’t safe in your room.’ At the town hall meeting, the communication to Israeli students was similar: ‘ You are n’t safe somewhere at Rutgers.'”
