By January 2026, the Department of Justice has pledged to detain 2, 000 Americans who practically exclusively trespass illegally. More than 1,400 arrests have been made in connection with January 6 despite the office not being pursuing charges of intruding on federal house during demonstrations for Palestine, pregnancy, and another left-wing causes. When the FBI apprehended Lavrenz immediately before Christmas in 2022, she was subject to this therapy. By her own registration, Lavrenz was in the Capitol building for about 10 minutes before leaving. Video footage shows her calmly parading around the tower, occasionally stopping to talk with Capitol Police officials on more than one occasion.
She left the building after reciting a brief prayer and avoiding any crime or theft. For this, she was detained nearly two years afterwards and charged with four trespassing-related misdemeanors, including rioting and marching in a federal building.
