Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is claiming to solve the possible misuse of AI during the forthcoming 2024 presidential election through a fresh system to brand AI- generated videos, images, and sound posted on its platforms.
The New York Post reports that starting in May, Meta Vice President of Content Policy Monika Bickert revealed in a blog article on Friday that the company will begin applying” Made with AI” names to AI-generated video, graphics, and sound posted on its websites. This new legislation is an growth of the bank’s prior approach, which only addressed a small set of photoshopped videos.
Regardless of whether the content was created using AI or another tools, Meta may also use distinct, more notable labels to digitally altered media that pose a “particularly higher risk of substantially misleading the public on a matter of importance.” This approach makes a major change in how descriptive handles manipulated information, moving away from a focus on removing a select number of posts to maintaining the content while providing details on how it was created.
The new naming strategy may apply to material posted on Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, and Threads programs, while other companies like WhatsApp and Quest virtual reality headsets are covered by different principles. Meta will begin applying the more prominent “high- risk” labels immediately, according to a company spokesperson.
Critics are skeptical of Zuckerberg’s motives.  , The company infamously censored Hunter Biden’s” Laptop from Hell” story along with the other Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe. The most recent policy of the company will need to be examined to make sure it is n’t used to denigrate conservative content while encouraging leftists.
