The Vatican has declared that trans sex-change procedures are an offense against God and compare to pregnancy and death in a recently-released philosophy.
The 20-page” Declaration Dignitas Infinita, on Human Dignitas” even asserts that surrogacy violates both the child’s and the proxy mother’s human dignity.
It asserts that the sexual a man was born with is an “irrevocable product” from God, and that anyone who desires” a private self- determination, as gender theory prescribes” risks conceding to” the age- ancient temptation to create oneself God”, according to the New York Times.
The theory goes on to state that there is a” physical change” between men and women, and argues that “any intercourse- change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the special dignity the person has received from the moment of conception”.
However, the philosophy makes an exception for clinics to proper “genital anomalies” that can be “resolved” with the help of medical experts.
It further asserts that despite the Catholic Church’s objections to homosexuality, the fact that not a lot of people are imprisoned, tortured, or otherwise denied the good of life in some places may be denounced as” counterproductive to human integrity.”
” At the same time, the Church highlights the certain important issues present in female idea, “it says, according to the Times.
Elsewhere, the human dignity doctrine released Monday discusses issues of poverty, abortion, the death penalty and surrogacy— which Pope Francis has previously said should be banned.
According to The Independent, it asserts that babies have the right to live in a “fully human ( and not artificially induced ) birth and to receive the gift of a life that exhibits both the dignity of the giver and the receiver.
Given this, the legitimate desire to have a child cannot be converted into a “right to a child” without regard for the dignity of the child as the recipient of the gift of life.
The doctrine, which has been highly- anticipated since March 2019, was intended to delineate the Church’s stance on a variety of issues facing modern society.
” Some topics may resonate more with some sectors of society than others,” Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, who leads the Vatican’s doctrine office, wrote in an introduction, according to the Times.
In spite of the numerous concerns and anxieties of our time, all of them seem to us to be necessary in order for us to not lose our way and expose ourselves to more wounds and profound suffering.
However, its release on Monday was only five months after Pope Francis made the announcement that transgender Catholics may be baptized and become godparents.
The following month, the pope also approved blessings for same- sex couples.  ,
Now, some LGBTQ+ activists fear the Church is taking a step back on transgender and same- sex rights.
” The Vatican is again supporting and propagating ideas that lead to real physical harm to transgender, nonbinary and other LGBTQ+ people,” Francis DeBernardo, the executive director of New Ways Ministry — a Maryland- based group that advocates for gay Catholics, told the Times.
He argued that the Vatican’s defense of human dignity excluded” the segment of the human population who are transgender, nonbinary or gender- nonconforming” and said it presented an outdated view on sex based on physical appearance but was blind to” the growing reality that a person’s gender includes the psychological, social and spiritual aspects.”
Mara Klein, a non-binary transgender activist, also refuted the notion that surgeries that affirm gender are an insult to God.
The notion that gender-affirming health care, which has saved the lives of so many wonderful trans people and allowed them to live in harmony with their bodies, their communities, and [God ], might risk or negate trans people’s dignity is hurtful, according to Klein.
In contrast, seeing that surgical interventions on intersex people, which, if carried out without authorization, cause a lot of intersex people dating, are positively evaluated just seems to further expose the underlying hypocrisy.
