Tijuana River Valley trash cleanup continues

The International Boundary and Water Commission, which is in charge of a significant trash cleanup project in the Tijuana River Valley, claims it wo n’t be finished with the project for” three to four weeks.”

In the Tijuana-San Diego place, a storm burst through in January, dumping several inches of rain in the area within a few hours, leading to extensive flooding and heavy drainage in the river.

As it broke through berms meant to keep the water outside, tons of trash and dust from the south of the border drew in with the Tijuana River.

7 days after, the Tijuana River Valley basin is still covered in trash and debris from Mexico.

A private firm leasing federal land to grow bastard in an area of the Tijuana River Valley Basin created a heavy layer of filth that was several feet strong.

A Texas-based IBWC team has been moving and putting the majority of the trash and debris onto large equipment to walk and pile.

Employers are also using rakes and hoes to move materials from a river while wearing hazmat suits because of the harmful toxic materials that flowed in with the garbage.

All of this function started a few weeks ago.

During a storm, 14.5 billion litres of fresh effluent from Mexico entered the US.

Some of the cleaners claim to have discovered a lot of unusual things while cleanup, including sex toys, dying animals, and hypodermic needles.

After this week, the IBWC says it does employ a company to remove and properly dispose of the garbage that has been stacked in enormous stacks.

Additionally, it states that a second lake region will also need to be cleared of sediment and trash, but funding for that project has not yet been allocated.
