Jennifer , and , James Crumbley, families of Michigan class shooter Ethan Crumbly, were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison on Tuesday.
On November 30, 2021, Ethan shot and killed four individuals at Oxford High School.
His relatives were charged following the shooting. The Crumbleys were accused of failing to secure the previously purchased gun at home and acting indifferently when confronted with a cold lesson drawing before that day, according to the Associated Press.
According to The Guardian, lawyers claimed that Jennifer and James may have prevented the shooting as the case unfolded in court as” painfully plain behavior” which were not taken.
Jennifer testified in a witness on February 2, 2024, in which she claimed her partner purchased the handgun her son’s child used to carry the invasion on Black Friday 2021. She was cited by Breitbart News.
Jennifer and James both denied knowing their son had brought the gun with him to class the day before the assault, according to The AP .
On Tuesday in the court, Oakland County Judge Cheryl Matthews said,” These beliefs are not about bad parenting, these beliefs confirm repeated deeds, or lack of deeds, that could have halted an oncoming fleeing train”.
The Crumbleys were each convicted of “four counts of involuntary murder, one for each of the kids their brother killed”, NBC News reported.
