Past DEA agent Derek Maltz says Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas should be held responsible for the state of U.S. border protection, but he doubts that Congress will follow his demands.
In February, the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives impeached Mr. Mayorkas, alleging that he had “engaged in a willful and structural refusal to comply with” U.S. immigration laws and had violated the public trust by fabricating information about border security and preventing congressional investigations on the subject.
” Watching the videos of what’s happening at the border is all you need to do.” You do n’t need to be an expert on immigration or border security to realize that this Secretary lied to the American people as well as to Congress. And to me, that’s the basic problem around”, Mr. Maltz told NTD News.
Beyond the dangers cross-border fentanyl smuggling poses for Americans, the former DEA agent described a wider range of national security issues from thousands of illegal border crossings who are known to have evaded American border security officers.
” We have like 2 million known gotaways in this region. We do n’t even know who these people are …We have ghost criminals all over the country. We have gangs who are aggressive from Venezuela and El Salvador, as well as from different parts of the world, radical extremists who are in, and record numbers of people who have been put on the terror watch list. And it’s just insane that this administration allows the entry of so many possibilities into this nation, according to Mr. Maltz.
Lax US Borders Enable CCP’s ‘ Unrestricted Warfare ‘: Maltz
Mr. Maltz said he is conscious of around 22, 000 Foreign citizens who have been apprehended attempting to enter the country illegally so far in fiscal year 2024, adding to his concern about lax U.S. border security.
” We’re on training for breakthrough records of Chinese immigrants”, he said. ” Today, here’s what’s terrible. They’re coming into America. They’re setting up intelligence operations. They’re setting up huge marijuana grow businesses. They’re working with the organizations, picking up millions of dollars worth of cash. They are aiding the cartel ‘ efforts to introduce deadly fentanyl into America.
The former DEA agent referred to the activities of these Taiwanese citizens as a possible component of a wider campaign of “unrestricted warfare” by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
” They’re gonna use whatever tool in a tool to increase the ability to destroy America”, he said, whether it’s horrible Americans with strong cocaine, or establishing knowledge operations within the state.
” So the Chinese Communist Party is responsible for this. You ca n’t just leave China without, you know, getting the approval from the CCP, I’m being told”, he continued. ” And I’m no expert on the CCP, but the action is obvious. They’re sending their workers around, they’re looking to destroy and taking down America. And that’s really on program, as far as I’m involved”.
No Trust in Senate
Congressional Republicans have raised the alarm over the rising number of people crossing the U.S. southern border and signs of rising drug visitors, but they have raised questions about the best course of action with their Political counterparts. Democrats have argued that Mr. Mayorkas has done a good job with the authority he has been given, while Republicans have attributed a large portion of their blame to Mr. Joe Biden’s administration, and particularly to Mr. Mayorkas. They also contend that Republicans have thwarted efforts to increase border security and restructuring the immigration process.
On Tuesday, April 9, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer ( D- N. Y. ) According to the indicted Senate Democrats, they intend to take action as soon as possible on the House impeachment reports against Mayorkas. Some Republicans have expressed concern that the Democrats intend to quickly set up a ballot on a motion to dismiss the prosecution costs, putting the impeachment proceedings on hold without having a Senate trial before trial begins.
While he favors an effort to hold Mr. Mayorkas liable for the state of U. S. border protection, Mr. Maltz said he has no confidence in a Senate trial moving.
” Secretary Mayorkas, he should be held responsible. But I have no real faith that that will occur if, you know, there are currently, two justice methods. And it’s just really sad”, the original DEA agent said.
On the grounds of the senate allegations, it would take a two-thirds voting in the Senate to truly eradicate Mr. Mayorkas from office. With the Senate’s recent lines of control in place, all Republicans and many Democrats would need to cast ballots to prisoner Mr. Mayorkas for the success of the removal effort.
Republicans currently hold 51 Senate seats, while Democrats and independents who support the party already hold 49. Republicans might have a chance to affect some Democrats to their part if they are impeached in a Senate impeachment trial, but none of the possibilities seem to be present.
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W. Va. ), who ProPublica has ranked as the Democrat lawmaker who has voted against the rest of his party the most frequently in this session of Congress, does not appear to be sensitive to the senate event so far. The impeachment trial against Mr. Mayorkas has been called” mad and ridiculous,” according to the West Virginia Democrat.
Sen. Mitt Romney ( R- Utah ) has also positioned himself against the prosecution case brought by his fellow Republicans.
” We have pointed out that President Biden is for open borders, as are the Democrats, and Mayorkas is just following that policy”, Mr. Romney told information on Tuesday. ” It’s the wrong coverage, it has a hugely detrimental effect on the country—but it’s not a great murder or misdemeanor”.
