Starting this summer, the U.S. Postal Service will try to increase the price of first-class stamps by 5 cent this month.
If the USPS gets its way, the value will enhance from 68 percent to 73 percent, according to an statement on Tuesday. Additionally, it sent a notice to the Postal Regulatory Commission announcing the plan, which may take effect in the middle of July 2024.
First- class stamps wo n’t be the only item that will see a price increase, the announcement noted. In all, value increases would use to postcards, worldwide mail, metered letters, and always stamps.
The Postal Service further stated that there would be no price increases for renting post office boxes and that postal insurance prices would be reduced by 10 %. The USPS stated that it would make an effort to get changes to the cost of funds buy and certified mail.
