President Joe Biden made a gimmick on Thursday night as another professional gun control, the ATF’s expanded history check law, appeared to be about to go into effect.
The ATF proposed a law basically moving gun selling toward universal history balances, which Congress has persistently refused to pass on August 31, 2023, according to Breitbart News.
The law announcement came after Gun Owners of America , warned , Biden was working behind the scenes to employ professional action to secure universal history checks. Giffords, Gabby Giffords ‘ gun control organization, who both jumped on the concept and jumped on it, was likewise excited before the announcement.
A media release that , accompanied , the announcement , of the proposed law and quoted Attorney General Merrick Garland saying:
The nonpartisan Safer Communities Act was passed by Congress to lessen gun violence, expanding the history checks that prevent thieves from possessing firearms. This proposed law implements Congress’s request to expand the list of people who may pass a background check and get a license before selling firearms.
This new proposed law, according to ATF producer Steve Dettelbach, will understand the circumstances under which a person is “engaged in the business” of dealing in weapon, and is thus required to obtain a permit and adhere to the laws that Congress has established for weapon dealers.
On April 11, 2024, ABC News quoted Biden boasting about the law nearing result, saying,” This is going to stay weapons out of the hands of local offenders and criminals. And my administration will continue to do everything in its power to save lives. Congress needs to finish the work and pass legislation to require universal background checks right away.
The ATF’s change in language and definitions regarding who is required to undergo background checks for gun sales and transfers is reminiscent of how the ATF changes terminology to reclassify pistols with stabilizer braces as short barrel rifles, and redefine bump stocks as machine guns.
