Biden Claims Support for Israel ‘Ironclad’ After Omitting Hostages from Ceasefire Call

President Joe Biden reaffirmed on Wednesday that his backing for Israel in the wake of the extraordinary terrorist attack on October 7 was “ironclad” and that his administration would do “all ] it can to protect Israel’s protection.”

Following  remarks made in an appointment on Univisión on Tuesday in which Biden complained that he did no “agree” with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s terrorism activities and demanded a peace against the jihadist jihadists of Hamas, without mention releasing the lots of victims who are still held in captivity in Gaza.

Israel is now conducting an extended self-defense operation in Gaza, Hamas’s mainhold, to counteract the threat that Hamas will commit the atrocities of October 7. On that day, terrorists invaded the country from Gaza and targeted personal communities, killing whole families in their homes, taking approximately 250 hostages, and engaging in gang- murder, abuse, and other crimes against humanity. An estimated 1, 200 persons died in the October 7 battle. Although Hamas has not yet provided a list of validated hostages also in captivity, estimates suggest that about 133 of them are still alive and 100 are still intact.

Israel has given the evacuation of the victims, some of whom are Americans, a top priority during its operations in Gaza.

Biden repeated his severe condemnation of Netanyahu in his comment alongside Kishida, claiming that he had had “very harsh and easy” conservations with Netanyahu. He continued to insist that his administration also supported Israel in its effort to defend its national security from Hamas, a murderous criminal organization that was funded by Iran.

Biden claimed that he and Kishida “discussed improvements in the Middle East, including our expressed support for a ceasefire, a prisoner package, and serious work to deal with the philanthropic problems that exists in Gaza.”

” We also want to address the Iranian threat to launch a sign- — they — they’re threatening to launch a significant attack on Israel”, Biden continued. ” As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again: ironclad. We’re going to do all we can to protect Israel’s security”.

Despite the fact that Tokyo already had a strong relationship with the White House under former President Donald Trump, Biden recalled his campaign pledge to “rebuild the muscle of our democratic alliances.”

” Our alliances are America’s greatest asset. The partnership with Japan is a powerful example of this, showing that we can achieve remarkable results by investing in our alliance and raising our collective goals,” Biden said.

Elsewhere in the press conference, asked about his fraught relationship with Netanyahu, Biden admitted to being “very blunt and straightforward” with the Israeli leader, but insisted that his administration was committed” to getting their loved ones home, and we’re not going to stop until we do”. He also repeated National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan’s claim that the humanitarian aid Israel is sending into Gaza, which Hamas governs, is” not enough”, describing the quantity as “over a hundred trucks” of aid in three days.

Kishida, discussing their conversation on Israel, said that he offered his “respect” to Biden for his role in helping resolve the conflict.

I praised President Biden’s efforts to free the hostages, improve the humanitarian situation, and ease the situation in the Middle East, the prime minister said. I then explained how Japan was working closely with other countries to improve the humanitarian situation, bring about a two-state solution, and secure the region’s stability.

A” two- state solution” is a plan to carve out a state of” Palestine” to exist alongside Israel. Following October 7, the” two-state solution” is very unpopular in Israel, and terrorist organizations like Hamas do not support it because they completely oppose Israel’s existence.

Biden’s remarks to Univisión, which were broadcast on Tuesday, did not include the hostages being released on Wednesday. In that venue, Biden instead argued that Netanyahu’s approach to fighting Hamas was” a mistake” and demanded a “ceasefire” against the terrorists without mentioning freeing hostages.

” I think what he ‘s]Netanyahu] doing is a mistake. I do n’t agree with his approach”, Biden said, condemning an airstrike that accidentally killed humanitarian workers with the&nbsp, World Central Kitchen (WCK) operating in Hamas territory.

” What I’m calling for is for the Israelis to just call for a ceasefire, allow for the next six, eight weeks total access to all food and medicine going into the country”, Biden told Univisión. &nbsp,” I’ve spoken with everyone from the Saudis to the Jordanians to the Egyptians. They’re prepared to move in. They’re prepared to move this food in. And I do n’t see any justification for not meeting those people’s medical and food needs. It should be done now”.

The hostages ‘ families who are still at large have pleaded for their release prior to their release and have objected to Israel’s demands that they stop conducting self-defense operations without rescuing them.

” The top priority should be to bring the hostages back,” the author says. It should be the world’s top priority”, Orna Neutra, the mother of Israeli- American hostage Omer Neutra, told CNN this weekend. ” Everyone looking for de- escalation in the region should be opening the sentence saying, you know,’ Release the hostages.’ Any request for a ceasefire without the hostages ‘ release is considered a death sentence for them.
