Website anti- Israel demands to weather change, home gun violence
A group of Yale students are threatening to start a hunger strike if the school does n’t leave Israel by Friday.
A group known as Hunger Strikers for Palestine informed Yale President Peter Salovey two days ago that they had witnessed the” continued]Palestinian ] genocide from the comforts of not only the empire that is funding the military conquest and colonization of Palestine.”
After expressing frustration with the failure of “every mode possible of making]their ] voices heard”, HSP’s letter demands Salovey make a “public statement” by April 12″ committing to divest from all weapons manufacturing companies contributing to Israel’s assault on Palestine”.
The HSP notes” the second 60 time” of Israel’s counter- harm following Hamas ‘ October 7 wonder abuse “released more]greenhouse oil ] pollution” than the annual emissions of 20 individual states. “( The countries are n’t specified. )
Additionally, the strikers say Yale’s” commitment to ‘ an environment in which teachers and students are completely from gun violence and the fear of gun violence ‘ may extend to Palestine” as Israel’s defense inflicts” undeniable cultural harm “and” burial cultural injury.”

If Salovey does n’t agree to the demands, the dozen HSP members will” risk their bodily health and wellbeing. ” ( But, they note, theirs is” only a fraction” of what those in Gaza are going through ).
The student teams Grad Students for Palestine on Instagram, Yalies4Palestine and Law Students for Justice in Palestine helped spread the letter on social media, the , Yale Daily News reports.
Yale’s poverty strike is just the latest instance of liberal, anti-Israel individuals who have threatened to go without food in a show of unity with the Palestinians.
Earlier in the year, Brown University’s Brown Divest Coalition kept informed via social media about the progress of the hunger attack. Shortly after, students from Dartmouth struck as a” final hotel “following months of” indifferent, callous and controversial measures” by college administrators.
Most recently, hunger strikers at the University of South Florida claimed the school was” forcing” them to” starve themselves “because it did n’t agree to their demands.
