Biden Campaign Launches 7-Figure Ad Buy About Abortion in Arizona

In Arizona, the state Supreme Court upheld an 1864 law that forbids almost all abortions on Thursday, President Joe Biden’s campaign launched a seven-figure campaign purchase, according to CBS News. &nbsp,

” Because of Donald Trump, millions of women lost the fundamental freedom to control their own bodies”, Biden says&nbsp, in the ad. ” And now, women’s lives are in danger because of that. What flexibility did you gain as a result of Donald Trump’s return to power? Your body and your choices belong to you, not the state, never Donald Trump. I will go to battle in vain to reclaim your independence.

The campaign is titled” Power Back” and does work this month during sure television programs, including&nbsp, Abbott Elementary, Survivor, Grey’s Anatomy, American Idol, The Voice, and SNL.

” The strategy said it’s mainly seeking to target younger women and Latino people”, according to the report. &nbsp,

The DNC also used the decision to spread a poster strategy in both English and Spanish throughout the Tempe and Phoenix rail locations. The billboards allegedly blame former US President Donald Trump for allowing the decision by nominating the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade, which had for 50 years guaranteed a previously unconstitutional legal right to abortion.

Vice President Kamala Harris— the Biden reelection party’s designated pregnancy hype- person — is&nbsp, scheduled&nbsp, to look at a “reproductive freedom” event in Tucson on Friday in response to the ruling.

Harris is making a second appearance in Arizona as part of her pro-choice tour around the country in advance of the November national election in Phoenix in early March. During the visit, Harris decried Arizona’s past 15- year pregnancy reduce passed in 2022 and called pro- life advocates “extremists”.

Liberals, as well as President Joe Biden’s plan, have been greatly banking on driving voter participation around the topic of pregnancy, &nbsp, using&nbsp, the issue&nbsp, to paint Democrats as “extreme” and a danger to people. Biden’s approach has included placing Trump under the blatant condemnation of the end of Roe, which has tied him to state-by-state abortion laws that were passed following the Dobbs decision.

The Arizona Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday came after&nbsp, Trump&nbsp, revealed&nbsp, his stance that states should ultimately decide on the issue of abortion. Trump&nbsp, told&nbsp, reporters on Wednesday that he thinks the 1864 law goes too far.

” It’s all about state’s rights, and that’ll be straightened out”, Trump said. ” I’m confident that the governor and everyone else will resolve this issue very quickly,” the governor said.

Some prominent Arizona Republicans have notably distanced themselves from the Arizona Supreme Court’s rulings, including Senate candidate&nbsp, Kari Lake&nbsp, and former Gov. &nbsp, Doug Ducey. Republicans in other states have so far obstructed efforts to repeal the law.

The abortionists are also subject to a two to five-year prison sentence under the 1864 law, which prohibits all abortions unless they save the mother’s life. Justices heard arguments in the case, &nbsp, Planned Parenthood of Arizona v. Mayes/Hazerigg, in December, and were asked to answer whether or not Arizona’s 15- week abortion limit, passed in March of 2022, overrides the older law.

While the court did not rule on the constitutionality of the 1864 law, the court issued a 4- 2&nbsp, decision&nbsp, with one recusal on Tuesday, finding that the 1864 law is “enforceable” over the newer 15- week limit.

We consider whether the Arizona Legislature repealed or otherwise limited the old law by enacting a law preventing doctors from carrying out elective abortions after 15 weeks of gestation, according to Justice John Lopez’s majority opinion. ” This case involves statutory interpretation — it does not rest on the justices ‘ morals or public policy views regarding abortion, nor does it rest on]the old law’s ] constitutionality, which is not before us”.

” Absent the federal constitutional abortion right, and because]the fifteen- week limit ] does not independently authorize abortion, there is no provision in federal or state law prohibiting]the 1864 law’s ] operation. Accordingly, ]the 1864 law ] is now enforceable”, Lopez continued.

In the end, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s decision to overturn an injunction against the nearly total ban while halting the law’s total enforcement for 14 days to allow for parties to decide how to proceed with additional action. Additionally, the state’s high court remanded the case to trial court to be looked at for any remaining constitutional challenges.

Democrats continue to oppose abortion until the day the Arizona Supreme Court upholds the law as it is intended.

The state supreme court decision comes as pro- abortion activists are &nbsp, moving&nbsp, forward&nbsp, with a proposed amendment that would create a constitutional right to abortion in Arizona.

Arizona for Abortion Access — a&nbsp, coalition&nbsp, of groups including ACLU of Arizona, Affirm Sexual and Reproductive Health, Arizona List, Healthcare Rising Arizona, NARAL Arizona, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona — said last week that they had amassed more than 500, 000 signatures, well past the 383, 923 required for the proposed amendment to qualify for the ballot in November. A simple majority would be required to pass the abortion measure if it were to be cast on the November ballot.

Arizona is one of nearly a dozen states where pro- abortion activists are &nbsp, working&nbsp, to codify the right to kill the unborn.
