Beginning on April 15, the second trial of Georgia’s 2021 election integrity rules does begin in federal prosecutor as part of the left’s long campaign to end election security in the Peach State.
Georgia’s Democratic- led government passed SB 202 — the Election Integrity Act of 2021 — following the 2020 vote. The case was brought by VoteAmerica, the Vote Participation Center, and the Center for Voter Information. VoteAmerica was formerly supported by Democracy Builders Fund, whose leader, former Obama director Seth Andrew, was later accused of” stealing money from , his own charter school system in 2021,” according to Influence Watch.
There are two rules of the election rules that go up for trial on Monday, including one that states that” all persons or entities… shall email applications for absentee ballots to electors in a primary, vote, or discharge shall send for applications only to individuals who have not already requested, received, or voted an absentee ballot in the main, election, or drainage.”
Judge J. P. Boulee granted the state summary judgment in September on the issues of whether the law was excessively broad and whether it violated the plaintiffs ‘ right to association. The functions will discuss the issue in his court on Monday after he denied their request for summary judgment regarding whether the delivery violates plaintiffs ‘ right to free speech.
Seven more pending lawsuits challenging the election integrity legislation have been filed by another leftist organizations.
This is not the first Democratic assault on SB 202.
Major League Baseball, Delta Airlines, and Patagonia all staged boycotts of Georgia after Democrats launched a smear campaign against Republicans over the poll laws. The guidelines were referred to as” Jim Crow in the 21st Century” by President Joe Biden. Many of these problems were caused by the false belief that voter suppression means requiring citizens to present an ID to show they are who they claim to become.
But despite the frenzy, voter ID laws are very popular — in fact, Georgia now had a voter ID law in place for in- person voting, as at least 35 different states do. The absentee ballot requirement was eliminated by the new law.
At the time the legislation was passed, about 200, 000 Georgians — less than 3 percent of the state’s adult population — lacked a driver’s license or state identification card, according to CNN. At the time, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that 97 percent of registered voters in Georgia were “on file with the secretary of state’s office” with an acceptable form of identification.
Georgians can simply visit the county registrar’s office to request a free ID card from the state and supply proof of residency as well as their social security number and citizenship. Voters who elect to cast absentee ballots can either provide their identification or use the final four digits of their Social Security number to verify their identity.
Another falsehood was that the bill would end early voting hours. However, the law actually expanded in- person early voting dates and hours for most counties.
” It’s sick. It’s sick”, Biden said. ” Deciding that you’re going to end voting at five o’clock when working people are just getting off.” The White House then released a written statement confirming the falsified assertion.
It warned that “unlike this new state law, it ends voting hours early so that working people ca n’t cast their ballots after their shift is over.”
Even for The Washington Post’s “fact checker” Glenn Kessler, this claim was so preposterous it earned four Pinocchios.
Not a single expert we spoke to who has studied the law understood why Biden made this claim, he wrote, noting that this was the section of the law that gave many Georgians more access to early voting. The Post confirmed the new law permits polling places to remain open until 7: 00 p. m. during early voting, which is” the same as Election Day in Georgia”, and that voters who are in line by 7: 00 p. m. may still cast a vote.
The year after the legislation was passed, roughly 800, 000 Georgians cast an early, in- person ballot — three times the number of early in- person votes cast in 2018 and higher than in 2020, The Washington Post reported.
