Russia Destroys Major Ukrainian Power Plant In Missile Strike, Power Shortages Expected

Russia appears to be intensifying its effort to rob Ukraine of electricity by conducting a number of significant missile and drone attacks this week, completely destroying a huge power plant.

The Trypilska fuel and fuel power plant was” fully destroyed” in a missile strike immediately into Thursday, Ukrainian position press says. According to those repots, it was one of the “most powerful” flowers in the Kyiv area and the whole service from windmills, converters, to producers were hit in the attack.

A second Sumy power plant was also impacted by an attack.

The national power board warned of power outages, especially in the Kharkiv city area, where more Russian airstrikes have caused local substations to suffer, making power transmission challenging. ” Substations and power generating facilities” have been damaged in recent days in” Odesa, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv and Kyiv”, the government said.

Solar power is produced during the day, but they do not function in the dark, so conventional power crops must take the helm. Consquently, power outages are achievable in the evenings, when demand is highest and provide today lowest.

The” X- 69 cruise missile,” which they claim has a range of 400 kilometers ( 250 miles ) and can skim over ground level at an altitude of 20 meters ( 65 feet ), is a work of a far-unseen new Russian missile, according to Ukraine, making it difficult to track and take down. The assault, according to the BBC, involved a flood of 80 drones and missiles going off into Thursday night.

This day, Ukraine said it had shot over 16 of 17 Egyptian designed Shahed strike drones in a more wave of attacks immediately into Friday, but that the wreckage of one fell on” important network” and started a fire. This morning, Ukraine called for its American underwriters to back up more air defense missiles, citing the need-demonstrations of the past days.

Ukraine Makes Deepest Strikes Inside Russia But, Hitting Factory and Oil Refinery 800 Miles From Front Linehttps: //t. co/oBZPuYuBWN

    — Breitbart London ( @BreitbartLondon ) April 2, 2024

Air Force Spokesman&nbsp, Ilya Yevlash told Ukrainian state tv:” We don’t replenish our supplies on our own, we cannot make these weapons on our own. Our partners are aware of our need, and they are aware of our need.

Russia, for its part, said the strikes were a retaliation for a series of recent attacks by Ukrainian drones against Russian energy infrastructure. As previously reported, long range Ukrainian drones made record- length strikes into Russia earlier this month, hitting an oil refinery. The Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike last night using air-launched and seaborne long-range precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles in retaliation for the Kiev regime’s attempts to damage Russia’s oil and gas industry and energy sites, according to the Kremlin’s state media.

Further, they claimed that” the strike’s objective was achieved.” All the targets were destroyed”.

Russia claims it has destroyed “dozens” of drones using electric warfare, but that two people were hurt in the sometimes tense city of Belgorod this week. This is a typical situation in the Ukraine drone war, in which both sides daily strike each other.

While the fragility of one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants, the Zaporizhzhia facility, which is currently being occupied by Russia, is a source of greater concern in both Kyiv and Moscow, drone and missile strikes on oil and power plants are a source of concern. Ukrainian drone strikes hit&nbsp, Zaporizhzhia last week, Russia claimed, prompting the United Nations ‘ nuclear energy watchdog to issue a condemnation and warning, saying just fighting” significantly” increases the risk of a nuclear incident.
