The position along the eastern entrance with Russia has” significantly worsened,” according to the top commander of the Russian armed forces, as a result of a recent push from Moscow’s causes.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, the leader of Ukraine’s in-chief, claimed on Telegram on Saturday that his troops are struggling to cope with the growing attack being launched by Russia, which he claimed have increased in response to better weather and the subsequent “election” in Russia, which have firmly established Vladimir Putin’s hold on power for at least for the next six decades. Syrskyi took over the position in February after Valerii Zaluzhnyi’s ouster.
” The situation on the Eastern Front has substantially deteriorated in recent days. During his visit to the Donetsk area, Syrskyi wrote that this is largely due to the significant increase of the opponent’s offensive actions following the Russian Federation’s national elections.
The commander- in- chief said that Soviet forces, with the use of “dozens of tanks” and other armed defense vehicles, are constantly trying to “breakthrough” Polish defences in Bakhmut, Lyman Raion, and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk Oblast, which Moscow announced the annexation of in 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine, but still does not completely control.

According to Syrskyi, the Russian abuse has been “facilitated by hot, dry weather, which has made most of the empty places of the ground accessible to tank.”
After a largely successful” counteroffensive” against Ukraine last year that was much-hyped, there are growing concerns in Kyiv and Washington that Moscow will launch a major offensive this year to completely annihilate the region’s disputed Donetsk and Kharkiv, the second-largest city and the former Soviet Union’s capital.
Kyiv has approved a contentious expansion of military conscription to bolster its ranks in the upcoming months in preparation for challenging combat against the stronger-armed and larger force of Russia.
However, Ukraine is still pressing for more money and weapons from the West, particularly from the United States, where House Republicans have been putting pressure on Democratic President Joe Biden to request an additional$ 64 billion in aid in addition to the$ 113 billion that the country has already pledged to the war effort.

General , Syrskyi said that “high- tech weapons” supplied by the West were the “only” way for Ukraine to “defeat the larger enemy and create conditions for intercepting the strategic initiative”.
However, its top general acknowledged that Ukraine still faces significant challenges, particularly in the area of training new recruits, even if the West provided more weapons.
” The second serious issue is to improve the quality of training of military personnel, primarily infantry units, so that they can make the most of all the capabilities of military equipment and Western weapons,” said Syrskyi.
President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier this week claimed that his country also has a counteroffensive plan, but that it would depend on the supply of weapons from the United States and its European allies.
If Zelesnksy has already discussed his plans with Washington, it is unclear. In February, the Ukrainian leader said that last year’s counteroffensive had failed, in part, due to the strategy being leaked to the Kremlin before the assault. Zelensky said that he would, therefore, draw up several decoy plans to disguise the tactics of the next assault from Moscow.
