A number of members of the UN Security Council criticized Iran for firing over 300 robots and rockets at Israel the day before holding an “emergency” conference on Sunday.
The Council’s members were unable to come to a consensus regarding any substantial action in response to the extraordinary abuse, which Israel had almost completely blocked with superior missile defense systems. Israel’s representative condemned Iran as the “number-one international partner of terror” and demanded the Council work to control Tehran’s ability to “arm, account, and teach terror proxies across the globe. ” Iran, meanwhile, argued that it “had no alternative ” but to bomb Israel and insisted it does “not seek escalation or war. ”
American Ambassador Robert Wood proclaimed that Washington would look into additional ways to hold Iran responsible, but he would not specify how.
Less than two days after the destructive October 7 battle of Israel by Iranian surrogate Hamas, the administration of communist President Joe Biden authorized restrictions on Iran’s missile and drone programs to come into effect on October 18.

Following days of Tehran’s threat to launch a damaging assault on its cousin, the meeting on Sunday was intended to address an Iranian military direct attack on Israel that occurred on Saturday. The Israel Defense Forces ( IDF) confirmed that it had stopped 99 percent of Iran’s” 300 threats of various types” and identified them.
“Of approximately 170 unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs ) that Iran launched, zero crossed into Israeli territory. … From the more than 30 cruise missiles Iran launched, few crossed into Israeli country, ” IDF Back Admiral Daniel Hagari, a official, stated on Saturday.
Iran claimed that the assault was necessary to stop the IDF’s commonly believed to have carried out attack on its consulate in Damascus. One of the top military officials tasked with planning international terrorism operations, Quds Force captain Mohammad Reza Zahedi, was among the seven Army officials who was eliminated by the hit. On Sunday, an Egyptian regime-affiliated group, the Coalition Council of Islamic Revolution Forces, claimed that Zahedi had a “strategic part in … preparing and executing ” the October 7 murder, which resulted in the deaths of about 1,200 people and popular group murder, torture, and violence.
While most people, including the United States, condemned the invasion, U. N. Antonio Guterres, the secretary-general, used the occasion to demand that the Israeli government show “restraint ” in response to the country’s massive attempted attack.

Additionally, Guatemala also denounced Israel for its April 1 attack on an Iranian diplomatic mission in Syria that resulted in the death of several senior members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ( IRGC), a U.S. diplomatic mission. S. a member of the Iranian government and a designated terrorist organization. Israel has not yet fully accepted responsibility for that attack.
The people of the area are in genuine danger of a catastrophic full-scale conflict. Now is the time to alleviate and de-escalate. Now is the time for maximum restraint, ” Guterres declared.
The United Nations ‘ Charter forbids the use of force against any state’s territorial integrity or political independence, or in any other way that is incompatible with the United Nations ‘ objectives, the U.S. states. N. captain added.
“It’s time to step back from the brink. Any activity that might result in significant military hostilities on numerous flanks in the Middle East is crucial. According to Guterres, citizens are now paying the most and already paying the most.
In an apparent remark at a meeting intended to address Iran’s missile and aircraft attack, Guterres took a moment to say that the international law requires that all political and diplomatic property and personnel be protected in all circumstances, as he had stated when condemning the 1 April attack on the Egyptian consulate in Damascus. ”
In the wake of Israel’s October self-defense operation, he called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, a stronghold of Hamas.

The Biden administration representative, Ambassador Wood, demanded that Iran’s attack not “go unanswered, ” but did not offer any immediate response to the attack. Rather, Wood said that “in the coming days ” the U. S. government would consider options for responding.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and its militant proxies and partners have launched unprecedented attacks against the State of Israel, according to Wood. Israel’s population was a threat as well as those of other UN member states in the area, including Jordan and Iraq, as a result of Iran’s reckless actions. ”
The United States will look into additional measures to hold Iran accountable here at the UN in the upcoming days, and in consultation with other Member States, Wood said. In the face of this attack, the United States supports Israel, and as President Biden stated, we will keep in touch with Israel’s leaders. ”
Iranian U. N. Amir Saeid Iravani, the ambassador to Israel, responded to the accusations by saying that because the Security Council had “failed in its duty to maintain international peace and security” by being insufficiently anti-Israel, that his country “had no choice” but to attack Israel.
He argued that the Security Council should take its responsibility and address the real threat to international peace and security by calling for urgent and harsh measures to compel Israel to put an end to a genocide against the people of Gaza. ”
Jihadist entities have consistently described the IDF’s operations against Hamas as a “genocide” while failing to condemn Hamas, an explicitly genocidal organization, for its slaughter of Jewish people in Israel.
