On Tuesday, around 1,300 American migrants gathered outside of New York City Hall for what some believed to be pledges of a green passport or work visa if they showed up.

For the 10 a.m., only 250 people were permitted outside. m. hear, while the thousands of others who flocked city were left outside in a garden while video showed them singing and cheering, ” according to the New York Post.

The workers came mostly from North African and Guinean nations. Some people claim in interviews with the NY Post that they were duped into attending town house by an activist group who promised to give them work visas or green tickets if they showed up.

Amadou Sara Bah, 44, a native of Guinea in November, said,” They told me that they would assist me in getting a work force and a green card if I came here today.”

Ah had applied for a work force in March but became anxious because of the five-month waiting time. He and his companions had been a long line of people waiting near town house on a couch.

There are many persons present, and we are unsure of how to access the assistance they had promised to do, he told the NY Post. I needed a green card to come around. I’m looking for help. ”

Dial Lochitlio, a 19-year-old from Guinea, said that “elders in the community ” told him to come to town house in search of an asylum.

They told us to arrive at this time and date and that they would provide more details, he said.

According to Assitan Makadii of the business African Communities Up, he went to the city hall after finding out that migrants were being frightened it under false pretenses.

“They received some misunderstandings, so we are here to provide clarification, ” Makadii said.

They are human, and they do n’t have anything, and they deserve everything. We are all mortal, ” Makadii added. “They don’t have a place to go. As you can see, I do n’t believe that any of the city’s housing is occurring because people are all present because they ca n’t sleep. ”

In front of City Hall in New York City Hall are now hundreds of illegal refugees from Haiti and Africa.

The majority of them are single people who speak French. They informed me that they are ok to request more support and employment opportunities. photograph. tweets. com/B7omQPUnRy

The combined hearing from the  City Council’s Committee of Immigration and Committee on Hospitals discussed the experiences of migrants in the shelters to “understand how the [Adams ] Administration is addressing language access barriers, cultural competency challenges, health needs, and other roadblocks ” that migrants face.

One of the important issues has been overcoming language barriers, particularly from a globe like Africa, which contains almost 3,000 cultures.

“This  is primarily a national state issue. They need to do better at providing training in these language, ” Manuel Castro, director of the Mayor’s Office on Immigrant Affairs, told the  committee.

“Early on in the position with the introduction of asylum seeking, it was generally Cuban, Ecuadorians and another Spanish-speaking asylum seekers. But we started seeing more people from across the world arrive, so there’s a bit of an adjustment period that we’re undergoing, ” Castro added.
