President Joe Biden’s Secretary of the Navy awarded soon-to-be-ex-Rep. On Wednesday, just before Gallagher’s highest civilian honor, Gallagher (R-WI ) resigns from Congress in the middle of his term, after waiting too long to fight for Biden’s top priority, received his highest civilian honor.
“Today, the Secretary of the Navy presented Rep. Gallagher receiving the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, the highest honourable award given to the United States. S. Navy you bestow upon a human not employed by the Navy, ” the Congressman’s standard X accounts posted Wednesday.
Prior to Gallagher’s office’s earlier announcement, the congressman had been asked to vote for an aid package that would send tens of billions of dollars to Ukraine after his initial quit date of Friday. Biden said on Wednesday that he “strongly ” supports.
As Breitbart News reported earlier Wednesday:
[ Gallagher] announced He would retire from his parliamentary seats on Friday, April 19 after a drip forced his hand on March 22.
However, Gallagher is once more altering his tune following Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA )’s ) announcement on Wednesday that the House will vote on a foreign aid package worth tens of billions of dollars for Ukraine.
“The senator has the freedom to stay and help the assistance package on Saturday, ” a spokesperson told Politico.
The plan outlining Saturday’s voting , unveiled Johnson’s Wednesday assembly has a difficult parliamentary procedure to smooth the way for Ukrainian support.

Gallagher’s month-long glass between his statement and his departure meeting also coincided with the House’s timeline for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act’s consideration.
Gallagher and other lawmakers fought to overturn a bill that would have mandated knowledge personnel eavesdrop on Americans earlier in April. Gallagher was the one-third of the vote on the FISA reauthorization act, which was defeated in a knot.
Gallagher’s views on that subject were similar to Biden’s, whose National Security Advisor and Attorney General individually lobbied Congress to reauthorize FISA without the warrant act.
House Republicans are fast overreaching their lot. After Gallagher’s return, Republicans you only lose one vote to fight a united alliance of Democrats.
Biden’s Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, made the trip to Capitol Hill Wednesday to present the prize in man to Gallagher. Biden nominated the Cuban-born Secretary in 2021, and the Democratic Senate confirmed him via message voting.
Del Toro is not the only high-profile Cuban-born established in Biden’s management. Alejandro Mayorkas, the house’s nominee for homeland security, immigrated to the country as well. He was impeached earlier this year but acquitted on Wednesday without a test. S. from the area region.
Only three House Republicans cast a ballot in favor of Mayorkas ‘ impeachment.
