Huge amounts of allegedly illegal drugs are seized from rivals in a movie from the Mexican gang; Additionally, the Sinaloa cartel is held responsible for “fish” revenue by merchants.

EL PASO, Texas ( Border Report )– Baja California’s attorney general says his office is investigating a widely-circulated social media video in which members of a Mexican drug cartel show large amounts of “seized ” narcotics from rival gangs.

Competitors of rival criminals are advised by the purported members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, who are dressed in black and carrying rifle with a chart of Baja in the background. ”

On Wednesday, the attorney general of Baja California, Rafael Orozco Vargas, told reporters that state police intelligence officials are analyzing the CJNG picture.

“We’ll see how new it is, ” he said at a news conference. One gang says something, and then another gang says anything else. You cannot give ( the alleged seizure ) the same validity as if it were an official investigation. ”

What’s actual is organized thieves are charging extorsion charges to retailers in Tijuana, especially those that run money-exchange homes on the frontier, he said.

“We’re making progress [… ] We have one person in custody and have arrest warrants against gang members, ” Orozco told reporters.

According to the news website Zeta, Tijuana is not the only Baja area where organized criminal organizations extort money from merchants.

In an investigative report released this week, Zeta claimed that organizations like the Sinaloa cartel are pursuing seafood vendors in Ensenada with a monthly 20,000 to 60,000-peso fee ($ 1,100 to$ 1,600 ), based on the size of the company.

Zeta claimed that Feb. thieves. 20 threw a Molotov cocktail at a company that demanded money and held different companies for payment. According to a fishing industry official, the portal reported that criminals are imposing a one-dollar tax on every kilogram of oysters a company receives and between$ 3,000 and$ 5,000 for a truckload.

The U. S. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Jalisco and Sinaloa cartel are the primary illicit producers of the probably fatal drug fentanyl from Mexico to the United States.
