Police officials arrested a male LGBTQ activist from El Paso County, Colorado, on Monday for alleged child sexual exploitation. The activist has since been released on a $20,000 bond.

According to KKTV, 31-year-old Sean Pinion was arrested on Monday and charged with one count of sexually exploiting a child. The LGBTQ activist is currently scheduled to appear in court on April 224.

KKTV reported that the Colorado Springs Police Department revealed Tuesday that an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation, which was launched in late 2022, had culminated in the arrest of the LGBTQ activist.

The Colorado Springs Police Department explained that while the investigation was launched in November of 2022 to determine the identity of a suspect who uploaded child sex abuse material on social media, officials identified multiple El Paso County addresses associated with the potential suspect in 2023 and were not able to pinpoint the suspect’s location.

Colorado Springs Police Department officials noted that detectives had previously identified a potential residence in El Paso County in December, adding that after “numerous hours” of police surveillance, a search warrant was executed last Thursday on a house located on Dexter Street.

Four days after the search warrant was executed, Pinion was arrested and placed in the El Paso County jail on a $20,000 bond. However, KKTV reported that as of 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Pinion no longer appeared to be in police custody.

Prior to his arrest, Pinion served as the president of the Pikes Peak Arts Council. On Wednesday, the vice president of the board told KKTV that Pinion had been removed from his position as president.

“In light of recent events, the executive board of the Pikes Peak Arts Council has formally removed Sean Pinion as President effective immediately. The Pikes Peak Arts Council has a zero tolerance policy,” the board member told KKTV. “Our board as whole was unaware of the charges until news broke to us on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024. As representatives of the Pikes Peak Arts Council, [we] do not condone his actions nor are they a representation for who we are. Our number one priority is safety for those in our community.”

A picture of Pinion was shared Thursday on X, formerly Twitter, by a woman named Dara Faye. The photo shows both the LGBTQ activist’s Facebook profile and his former profile as the president of the Pikes Peak Arts Council.

Journalist Andy Ngo also shared pictures of Pinion on social media. Ngo claimed that the LGBTQ activist “promoted dangerous trans chest binding devices for children on social media.”
