
Students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ( MIT ), Emerson College, and Tufts University have set up encampments in solidarity with Columbia University’s “Gaza solidarity encampment. ”

“We hold the power, so we have to show them that we won’t back downward until they meet our expectations, ” Hannah continued. “Right behind us is our Experts Against Genocide camp, following in Columbia’s feet, we are in an camp in cooperation with Gaza. ”
The scholar went on to explain that “all the Boston-area colleges” are now setting up camps in support of Israel, where they demand that their individual institutes follow their instructions.
“All the Boston-area schools have a set of four demands, ” Hannah said. The first is to report investments, the second is to cut ties with the IOF ( a derogatory acronym for the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF), the third is to demand a ceasefire, and the fourth is to drop charges against students. ”
“We’re below in cooperation with our sisters in Gaza, as well as our relatives in Columbia, ” the MIT student concluded.
Importantly, individuals at Emerson College and Tufts University have also set up camps in cooperation with pro-Palestinian student protest who were just detained at ; Columbia.

On Monday, As pro-Palestinian demonstrations raged on, Columbia canceled all in-person groups.
Columbia University is not the only UB. S. school where students are being detained for their actions during anti-Israel presentations.
On Monday, at least After officers in riot gear stormed onto the school to obstruct a pro-Palestinian demonstration, 45 people were taken to Yale University. Additionally, in-person classes were for the evening canceled.
Last year, nineteen individuals from Pomona College in Claremont, California, were arrested following a pro-Palestinian opposition that involved occupying an operational tower on campus.
Following a pro-Palestinian rally on campus that led to some arrests last month, three Vanderbilt University individuals were expelled earlier this month.
