
Eight men’s bodies were dumped by unidentified gunmen along a highway in Chihuahua, a frontier state in Mexico. The vicious crime scene comes as gang violence is still pervasive throughout the majority of Mexico, despite state officials ‘ claims that security has improved nationwide.
Authorities responded to calls for some body piled up in a niche on Sunday night along the bridge that connects Chihuahua City to the border town of Juarez, according to a statement from the state attorney general’s office.
Initial reports indicated there were up to 13 body, while others stated that nine bodies were present. But, Chihuahua state authorities discovered that eight bodies had been left on. According to information obtained by authorities, the bodies were most likely killed somewhere else before being moved it because there were no nuclear remains.

A number of emails were scrawled on posterboards left behind at the murder scene, according to local media outlets. Officials did not, however, reveal the nature of the messages or the criminal organization responsible for the large murders.
As different legal organizations continue to fight for control of beneficial northbound drug and human smuggling routes, the state of Chihuahua has a longer history of cartel violence. There are several smaller companies that are associated with the Sinaloa Cartel, the Juarez Cartel, or the Cartel Jalisco New Generation, and they have occasionally engaged in ground battles.
