
The BBC has issued an apology for running a false statement on Harry Potter writer J. K. Rowling’s remarks about transgenders, admitting that its investigating was “inaccurate” while even admonishing its reporters about the “importance of accuracy”.
According to the BBC Scotland unique April 2 story, Rowling was detained for describing some transgender “women” as men in a police report. Apparently unhappy with the decision,  , the outlet erroneously claimed that , the Hate Crime and Public Order ( Scotland ) Act 2021 “makes it a criminal offence to make derogatory comments based on disability, religion, sexual orientation, transgender identity or being intersex”.

The BBC reported that the Act should have been used to create a fresh crime where it is illegal to communicate substance or act in a threatening or abusive way in an effort to” stoke hatred” in response to this false statement.

According to a Deadline report, this is the next day the BBC has apologized for its protection of Rowling and her opinions on transgender people.
Last month, the BBC apologized for calling Rowling” misogynistic” on , BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland present. The same year, the BBC apologized for failing to issue a visitor whose accused Rowling of pushing ,” stigmatization” on , Radio 4’s” PM” present.
