Later on Tuesday evening, the U.S. Senate approved a bill that could cause TikTok to be outlawed in the country due to concerns about national security.
It gives TikTok’s Chinese operator, ByteDance, nine times to sell its play or the software may be blocked in the United States.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill on Saturday, according to a report from Breitbart News, as a result of common concerns among U.S. politicians that China could use the app to access or monitor Americans ‘ information.

President Joe Biden has stated that he will sign the bill into law as soon as it reaches his office on Wednesday.
TikTok has never responded to the request for comment right away.
Bytedance originally stated it would not support any attempts to sell the well-known short videos application.

Any deal would still need approval from Foreign leaders if the United States were to force ByteDance to promote TikTok, but China has pledged to resist any such action.
