
An NYPD captain and several of his officers , were chased down a Manhattan street , by pro- Arab NYU protesters who forced the cops to surrender into a school building, striking video shows.
NYPD Assistant Chief James McCarthy, the mind of Patrol Borough Manhattan South, was helping two cops in riot gear full the imprisonment of , a rebel in their custody , Monday evening when they were pursued by more than a dozen offended activists demanding the person’s launch, the video shows.
During a cooked standoff with pro-Palestine protesters who had set up an encampment on the school grounds, police totaled 120 arrests for the evening at NYU. The institution requested that the NYPD remove the protesters.
” You f—ing totalitarian”! While several protesters, including one whose neck is hanging from his throat, record McCarthy leading his group down the street, one protester frequently screams.
The chief makes an attempt to open a pair of glass windows, but the protesters swarming behind them, which were locked.
” F— you pigs”! McCarthy speaks into his tv while another activist screams as one officer tries to get the protesters again.
As the demonstrators continue to follow him, yelling” Let her go!”, the key is recorded speaking into his television, indicating where he is located, and leading his soldiers down the street. Letting her go”!
” Mccarthy is seen attempting to get inside the NYU Catholic Center, but could n’t open the door” , , @peterhvideo , wrote when he posted the video Tuesday night.
According to the video, McCarthy inevitably leads his officials further down the block and into a building with several police officers inside.
” He finally finds an unlocked door around the corner”, @peterhvideo said. As Mccarthy requests backup, safety soldiers must keep the doors shut.
According to the film, a rebel once attempted to grab one of the police officers ‘ arms, but her hand was slammed away.
A senior NYPD official claimed that McCarthy has responded to numerous protests and has n’t felt threatened on Monday.
” McCarthy has been around for a long time”, said the official, who asked not to be named. ” He’s in charge of Manhattan South, which has handled more protests than any other borough”.
” He’s very experienced in these things”, the official said. ” He may have put it over the television and we would have addressed it if he felt that he needed storage or assistance.”
On Tuesday, NYPD copper blamed instructors and “professional provocateurs” for causing most of the problem the night before.
The NYU school section of Students for Justice in Palestine said they were “met with violent prosecutions” during Monday’s demonstrations. At least two reporters , say they were peppers sprayed, including from the NYU student newspapers and local store HellGate.
