Federal officials claim that cartels are directing the most recent force of asylum seekers traveling by train to the U.S. border.
Some U.S. leaders attribute the rise to a conscious energy by transnational criminal businesses to benefit from foreigners fleeing economic and public health crises in their nations.
U.S. Border Patrol agents in El Paso say they are prepared to handle the wave as the number of refugees crossing the Rio Grande rises by the hour.
Many small groups of people have been arriving at different times throughout the day and night, according to Claudio Herrera-Baeza, a Border Patrol spokesman in El Paso. Propaganda is being used to push all these workers, according to the article. They think that when they cross this border, they will apply for asylum and be free to enter. These refugees will likely be processed for removal, in actuality.
The Circumvention of Constitutional Pathways law, which requires asylum seekers to create sessions online before showing up at a U.S. port of entry, was first implemented by the federal government last year. Under Title 8 rules, those who cross the border between ports of entry could be deported from the land and forfeit their immigration benefits for a number of years.
Despite being required to display anyone who crosses the border, the El Paso boundary has been comparatively quiet in the past two weeks, with migrant encounters ranging from 800 to 1000 per day and a population of under 3, 000.
Every single one is being processed because we need to recognize who is entering, Herrera-Baeza said. We have the capacity to process these refugees effectively and humanely, as we have learned from previous immigrant storms over the years.
Many of the 1, 000 plus workers who arrived in Juarez on Wednesday spent the night in homes. On Thursday evening, hundreds of people walked toward the Rio Grande, but many were shocked to see the knife line and men that the Texas Army National Guard had positioned in front of the U.S. border wall.
” We are told to go to Gate 45 by the guard,” the watch said. We don’t get it. It is too risky. There are organizations it, and there are also women and children. They may steal us”, said Luis, a Colombian immigrant. ” We will resist here ( on the river levee ) until we are able to cross. Although Mexican immigration says they will get us to homes, we are aware that not all of them are decent. They have ( Southern Mexico ) returned too many people.
For the past year or so, asylum seekers have been directed both by classmates who have already crossed or by the pirates who made their entry to Juarez to go to Gate 36 of the border walls in El Paso. However, many are now trying to turn retreat at Gate 38 to the west because of the large presence of the Texas Guard and the challenging barbwire.
Herrera-Baeza claimed that the Border Patrol is redeploying its providers in response to immigrant travels.
On the Juarez area, migrants could be seen waiting for hours along the Rio Grande’s banks to mix at the right moment. Some of the refugees claimed to a Border Report cameras crew that others had suggested waiting for large amounts on social media so that the U.S. officials could not reject them.
