Rep. Kathy Manning (D-NC ) stated on Thursday’s” NewsNation Live” that protests on college campuses are antisemitic and anti-Israel, and that the demonstrators “have no idea or seem no idea that Hamas has rejected five different offers for a ceasefire. Their refusal to release the captives, their refusal to sacrifice, and their ongoing exercise in lying among civilians]are ] what’s prolonging this issue”.
No one in the protesters chanting” for the release of British hostages” and” for the Palestinian people,” Manning claimed.
Host Marni Hughes next asked,” Pro- Arab, that’s what these have been called over the last few weeks, but safe to say this is much more than pro- Arab opposition, racist, anti- Israel, from what you’ve seen”?
Maintaining responded,” No problem. By the way, these chanters have no idea or appear to have no idea that Hamas has rejected five different offers for a ceasefire. Instead, what you would expect people protesting to create an appropriate settlement [for ] what has happened in the Middle East. Their refusal to release the captives, their refusal to sacrifice, and their ongoing exercise in lying among civilians]are ] what’s prolonging this issue. And I wish that the universities was exercise control over what is happening on the campuses, use this as a learning opportunity to discuss what is actually happening in the Middle East, how long the conflict has been in the past, and how dangerous it is for students to be exposed to hatred, not just to Jews but also to the foundations of our democracy.
