Representative Zoe Lofgren ( D- CA ) said Thursday on CNN’s” The Lead” that the Supreme Court acted like “partisan hacks” during the oral arguments on Donald Trump’s claim that he is immune from prosecution.
Justices signaled now that they were skeptical of Trump’s say that he had complete immunity for all of his actions that were established, according to network Jake Tapper. They even criticized the special counsel’s approach to the event. How good do you believe the court will try to reach a compromise decision that could push this case past the November election or that it could be moved back to the lower court, which would prolong all of this?”
Lofgren said,” Well I’ve got to say Jake, the jury is certainly looking independent or non- political at this point. They did n’t need to take this case at all. The decision of the appellate judge was carefully drawn in right. They did n’t take it early on once they gave an indication. They pulled it out by force. Truly, the debate of today highlighted a very serious issue, which is that they are not deciding the matter before them but rather engage in extravagant behavior that would cause more delays.
She continued,” Truly, all of us attorneys are also called officers of the court.” We were taught to believe in the fairness of courts, particularly the Supreme Court, but it’s still challenging now. It does n’t look like that today, they look like partisan hacks. I’m sorry, and it’s a great problem for me and a great concern for the president’s survival of our republic that we could n’t really have a demo of someone who attempted to overturn the election before the following election is absurd.
