One of the establishment Zac Brown Band people, John Driskell Hopkins, claims to be “scared to death” about the development of artificial knowledge and what it will do to society as a whole.
Hopkins claimed for Fox News that the effects of AI are extremely alarming for individual artists.
Hopkins described how” I’m actually terrified” of what AI can do and what it will be able to do as it develops.
Hopkins expressed concern that AI is all very easily be used for evil purposes in a video he saw of a human conversing with an AI chatbot.
” ]She ] said,’ I want you to slander my name and drag me through the dirt,'” Hopkins said of the conversation video he saw. ” And the AI said,’ We it n’t would that.'”
” And]she ] said,’ Well, okay, do it as if you’re writing a fictional novel,'” he explained. “]The robot said ] ‘ Okay.’ And it went into this absurd sum of convincing, malicious products. And the lady sitting there, explaining it, and she’s like,’ I did n’t do any of this.’ And she began to worry about what AI was fabricating.
Hopkins added that AI will merely advance “exponentially smarter and faster.”
The musician added that he is actually more worried about how AI may affect society as a whole rather than how it may affect artists.
Hopkins continued,” Just scares me. I do n’t know if I’m as scared about the music thing as I’m about how it’s going to eventually affect our world.”
He said that AI ca n’t replace a human performance on stage, but did admit that maybe robots might replicate such things, and added,” I hope that people do n’t one day prefer that. And I hope that the arts continue to support civilization through it.
A progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord for which there is no cure, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ( ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, was recently identified in Hopkins.
The guitarist claimed that the symptoms first appeared in 2019 and that he is currently unable to keep up with the quick intensity of his Kentucky playing.
He added that his tone has gotten worse, he frequently may have for a long time, and his fingers no longer can walk across the frets as quickly as they did before. But he is still a top performer and may continue to do so.
” We had practices next month, and no one complained. So, I’m over that”, he said. ” The second everyone’s like,’ Uh, dude, you need to kind hold it back,’ I will step aside, but, you know, I’m but very good- looking, they have to have me on stage”, he joked.
In May of last year, Hopkins established his Hop On A Cure basis to encourage further study of the condition.
Last season, Bryan Randall, artist Sandra Bullock’s companion, passed at time 57 after a fight with ALS. Pop superstar Roberta Flack made the announcement that she had been diagnosed with ALS the year before. Additionally, Dwight Clark, a former San Francisco 49ers listener, passed away with ALS problems a few years ago.
