A expenses that would give “antisemitism screens” to colleges and universities schools that receive federal funding is being considered by two New York staff.
Rep. Ritchie Torres ( D- NY ) and Rep. Mike Lawler ( R- NY ) are set to introduce the College Oversight and Legal Updates Mandating Bias Investigations and Accountability ( COLUMBIA ) Act, according to Jewish Insider.
A third-party hatred check may be allowed to be sent by the Department of Education, funded by the colleges and universities, to university and college schools that receive cash from the federal government.
The hatred track would provide recommendations to federal, state, and local lawmakers as well as a monthly report on how colleges and universities have handled hatred on campuses.
Schools that do n’t cooperate could potentially be faced with losing federal funding.
Campus racism is at an all-time higher, and American universities are unable to deal with it when left to their own devices, according to Torres in a statement.
The Antisemitism Awareness Act does put an end to the hateful chants against Jews on school once and for all. I urge all of my coworkers to help this bipartisan bill and I’m pleased that it will be cast for a vote the following year. photograph. twitter.com/G5mrBYPFnv

Since the demonstrations and camps have started, individuals have been suspended, activists have been arrested, and graduation ceremonies have been canceled.
Torres added that the Columbia University encampment was” the straw that broke the camel’s back,” and that” I am ready to do something about it.”
The New York senator continued:
Israeli students have told me in my office that they feel absolutely abandoned by the officials at their universities and that Congress is their only source of accountability and safety.
On October 7, 2023, jihadists from Hamas, a U. S. designated Islamic terror party, attacked Israel by land, water, and air, leaving 1, 200 people dying and more than 200 individuals taken as victims.
