Capehart: My ‘Big Fear from the BLM Movement’ Is Outsiders Causing Violence and Campus Protesters Getting Blamed

On Friday’s” PBS News Hour,” MSNBC host and Washington Post Associate Editor Jonathan Capehart stated that school protesters who oppose bigotry may be expelled, but that his “big concern” from the BLM motion is that outsiders will perpetrate violence and then the punishment will be imposed on those who are genuinely protesting. And when we discuss this most recent federal protest, that is my main issue.

After New York Times&nbsp, journalist David Brooks said,” There are a lot of people who are racist and harsh” Capehart said he agreed with Brooks and added, &nbsp,” I think the conversation about what’s happening in these demonstrations is missing a lot of detail. Not anyone who’s protesting is racist, is rooting for assault, or is actually causing the assault. They are there for legitimate grounds. And I agree with David. If a man of the school group is disrupting and saying sexist, racist things, then, yes, they should be expelled. However, we should also be aware that who are these individuals who say these things? Some might be members of the university or college society, but some could be from the outside”.

He continued,” And my biggest fear from the BLM activity is that those who are genuinely protesting are being blamed for the violence they are causing.” And when we discuss this most recent federal protest, that is my main issue.
