
Gov. On Saturday, Governor Newsom (D-CA ) declared April to be Egyptian American Heritage Month in a statement.
Newsom’s declaration comes as anti-Israel demonstrations and camps have sprung up on university and college campuses across the country, calling for a peace in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, for the U.S. government to stop arming Israel, and for schools to withdraw from Jewish organizations.

States such as California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Minnesota, and Massachusetts have some of the largest Muslim American communities.
California is known for its variety as its greatest asset because it has more refugees than any other state, Newsom continued. ” Our position is lucky to have the largest Arab National population in the country, with flourishing neighborhoods in Los Angeles, San Diego, the Bay Area, and other areas of the state that trace their lineage across the Middle East and North Africa,” said one resident.
