NEW DELHI: Mint Butterfield, the missing youngster of Slack’s co- leader, was found in San Francisco on Saturday evening, accompanied by an older man who is ten years their top and is now facing kidnapping charges.
The 16- yr- ancient was discovered with Christopher” Kio” Dizefalo, 26, as reported by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, following the departure of the student, who identifies as non- linear and prefers they/them pronouns, from their residence in Bolinas next week.
According to arrest records obtained by the San Francisco Standard, Dizefalo, who the judge called an “adult friend,” was detained and booked in the Marin County Jail on suspicion of child violence and other offenses. He was in custody on bail amounting to$ 50, 000, as New York Post reported.
According to arranging records, the parking valet and Mint were found inside his white vehicle on Eddy Street in the town’s extremely dangerous Tenderloin District neighborhood.
Mint — who was deemed “at- danger” according to previous threats of death — was uninjured.
They informed the police that they had made the decision to leave their Bolinas residence, and that they had since been reunited with their families.
According to The Standard, Dizefalo is suspected of coercing the girl into running away.
The parents of Mint, Stewart Butterfield, co-founder of the moment messaging app Slack before selling it to Salesforce in 2020, and Caterina Fake, co-founder of the photo-sharing game Flickr, thanked authorities for bringing their child home.
” A heartfelt thanks to all the family, friends, individuals and strangers who called in ideas and made this recovery possible”, their families and father, brother tech leader Jyri Engeström, stated in an email to the Standard and various local stores. We want to thank the experienced law enforcement officers who are aware of the real threat of predators who exploit the lure of drugs to woo young people.
Mint was last seen in Bolinas on April 21 and reported missing the following morning by their mother.
According to legend, the teenager left a note informing their parents that they intended to run away before being found with Dizefalo this week.
Authorities thought Mint had been in the Tenderloin neighborhood because, according to the police, he was known to frequent the area before fleeing home.
