During this year’s spread of Fox News Channel’s” Sunday Night in America” , , Rep. Mike Lawler ( R- NY ) made the case for his Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act as extra- Israel protests on college campuses are live around the nation.
The New York State Republican argued that institutions that do n’t implement hatred should be punished by losing their federal funding.
” Congressman, I think you anticipated my next question and it is also the question our viewers have, which is, they’re wondering whether tax dollars or public moneys are going to schools that either ca n’t or wo n’t condemn racist, antisemitic activities”? network Trey Gowdy asked.
” The bottom line to me is you need to be able to define what hatred is, uphold it, and if institutions are failing in the police, then they need to be stripped of federal money, including student help”, Lawler replied. ” And that’s why I introduced the Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act,” which had defund higher education institutions. I believe that when you observe what is happening, you have a situation where agitators and protesters are evidently paid. The New York Post just reported on this the other day, with many of these demonstrations on university campuses being funded by these outside organizations.
” But you see that often, it requires the power of the bag to get these organizations to act”, he continued. And the risk of removing those national funds will undoubtedly cause many of them to do what they ought to have been doing, which is putting an end to these demonstrations because they are not rooted in reality, they are not rooted in reality. They’re rooted in hatred. And the fact that these institutions have allowed it to occur, knowing for certain that if there were protests against Black people, protests against refugees, or demonstrations against gay people, the schools would have immediately taken action against it, but they are still allowing it to take place under the guise of the Israel-Palestinian issue, but we are aware of what it is, hatred at its base.
