PHARR, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — U. S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers at Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry seized over$ 761, 000 in cocaine in a single stop.  ,
According to CBP, the arrest occurred April 25 at the Pharr International Bridge when a CBP official referred a 2008 Dodge driven by a 58- year- ancient Hispanic citizen , for secondary inspection.
Along with CBP K-9 officers, CBP officers used a non-intrusive examination system to examine the car.
In the car, officers discovered 24 items containing a total of 57 pounds of alleged heroin. The narcotics had a street value of$ 761, 803.
” This substantial cocaine seizure is reflective of the strong enforcement position of our infantry CBP officials and their performance in applying inspection knowledge and technology”, said , Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry. Spasms like these demonstrate CBP’s determination to advance our border security mission while facilitating legal trade and travel.
CBP seized the cocaine and the car. The vehicle was detained by HHS specific officials, who launched a criminal investigation.
