Whoopi Goldberg claimed on Monday on ABC’s” The View” that the media was pushing a” clickbait” narrative about the Israeli-Hamas war protests in college.
Co- number Sunny Hostin said,” I think these are pro- war protests, and I think it’s troubling that we’re framing these as pro- Arab protests or pro- Jewish protests”.
She added,” It has never been, in my life, in my career, the attacking policies of state is equated with anti- Semitism, and that, I think, is a considerably- right — it comes from the far- right. It comes from the authoritarian leanings, where they do n’t want students on these campuses to voice their opinions because they want to change the narrative going forward. I believe we must be very, very careful.
Goldberg said,” It is one of the great privileges as an American to walk up and say,’ Something’s bad.’ Regardless of what your color is, if you’re a woman, man, it does n’t matter”.
She added,” And we must teach our people how to be on the lookout. The media consumes what is considered the best bait, which is a part of our issue. So you see the exact banners or you see the same persons, but you do n’t see the folks who are doing calm things and saying,’ Here’s what we want to do.’ I do advise the internet to be very cautious about what they’re doing and how they’re handling this because what they appear to be doing is pushing a tale that students are challenging, which I’m thrilled to see because I like when kids become furious and declare,” We want a shift made.”
