Prior to the encampment’s completion, Columbia University sent a letter to anti-Israel protesters who were taking part in the protests informing them of a 2:00 p.m. date to “gather” and “leave the campsite.
The text added that individuals are beginning exams and student preparations and that the camp had created an “unwelcome setting for members” of the neighborhood.
Over the top of the letter, the words,” Columbia will burn”, and,” I ai n’t reading all that. Free Palestine”, were written in red paint.
Over the past year and a half, since an original anti- Israel camp was established at Columbia University, several others have been established at Yale University, George Washington University, Princeton University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of California Los Angeles.
